An Inspiring and Engaging Ocean – the first Ocean Decade Laboratory this July

You are warmly invited to join the first Ocean Decade Laboratory on 7 and 8 July 2021 on the Ocean Decade Outcome: “An Inspiring and Engaging Ocean”.

This virtual event will provide a platform to bring together diverse stakeholders on priority issues for the Ocean Decade with the aim of encouraging collaborative actions.

This first Laboratory will look into the key elements required to foster the change we need to see over the course of the Ocean Decade. It will bring the participants together on a journey to inspire us to care, engage and empower us to act for sustainable change. It will explore how we can positively influence behavior change and support action.
Introduced by a Core Event hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in partnership with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO), the Laboratory will be complemented by a diverse range of international Satellite Activities during a maximum time slot of 48 hours. Immediately afterwards, their Outcomes will be summarized in a final virtual Wrap-up.

If you would like to go one step further and contribute a Satellite Activity to one of the next Ocean Decade Laboratories taking place in 2021, please feel free to submit any ideas for “A Predicted Ocean” until 28 June and for “A Clean Ocean” until 2 August 2021 here.

Whether you are an exhibitor, workshop host or side event organizer, we’ve got you covered.

If you want to get further information as well as the invitation for all the Ocean Decade Laboratories, please register here.
