On 8th June, we celebrate World Ocean Day, a day when people everywhere can celebrate and take action for our ocean.
The 2021 Conservation Action Focus is 30×30: “Protecting at least 30% of our blue planet for a healthy ocean and climate” by 2030.
Protecting our ocean is crucial to solving the climate crisis and actions that leaders take this year will determine the health of our blue planet and the security of future generations for decades to come. To find out more about the 30×30 and what you can do, both as an individual and as part of an organisation, visit the World Ocean Day website.
Clean Coasts are hosting a series of events, including live talks, video premieres, a movie streaming and even a cookalong to celebrate the day.

An event not to be missed is an opportunity to hear and chat with Prof. Tasman Crowe, Chair of the Marine Protected Area Advisory group. He will explain what Marine Protected Areas are, what challenges we face in identifying them in Ireland and how we all can have our say through the public participation survey that is open until the middle of July. This event is free but please ensure to book your tickets below. The discussion will take place on Zoom at 1pm which will include a Q & A section. |
