IOLN ON TOUR – A series of regional meetings to bring together ocean literacy stakeholders at local level starts this month

The Secretariat of the Irish Ocean Literacy Network at Galway Atlantaquaria are happy to announce that a series of regional members meetings will take place in 2023 in the four provinces of Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster over the next few months. These events will give the Network the opportunity to come together in person to exchange ideas and discuss future plans for common ocean literacy initiatives in a relaxed atmosphere.

The first regional meeting will be in Queen’s University Belfast on the 29th of March, and the programme of the event is currently being finalised by the IOLN Secretariat.

Three additional regional meetings will be held over spring:

  • In Galway on the 21st of April;
  • In Dublin on the 12th of May;
  • In Cork on the 7th of June. This fourth meeting will be organised in tandem with the Fair Seas’ inaugural conference which will be held the following day.

These events target the IOLN members, but anyone who has an interest in ocean literacy and shares the vision of the Network is welcome to attend and join the discussion. In fact, the target of these regional meetings is also to support the IOLN members in the development of their ocean literacy initiatives in a local framework.

To learn more about the details of the regional meetings already scheduled and to stay up to date about the next ones organised in the near future, follow the IOLN on FacebookTwitter and LinkedIn. For any queries, please contact the IOLN Secretariat.
