Irish Ocean Literacy Network represented by national ambassador for the Virtual Island Summit 2020

Dr. Noirin Burke was delighted to learn that she had been accepted to present Ireland in this year’s Island Innovation Ambassador program early this week. Together with her fellow Ambassadors she will aid in the representation, promotion, planning and research for this year’s Virtual Island Summit, which will be held online, from the 6th-11th of September.

The Ambassadors, which are considered the face of Island innovation, will work closely with key stakeholders in the Virtual Island Summit. They will represent their country and network with policy-makers, entrepreneurs and NGO leaders while gaining industry experience and exposure.

‘I am really excited to be part of this year’s ambassador programme’ said Dr. Burke, Director of Education in Galway Atlantaquaria and co-secretariat of the IOL Network. The virtual summit is accessible to all and can connect communities living in Islands of all sizes from around the world.

I look forward to keeping me colleagues and friends in the Irish Ocean Literacy Network updated as the summit progresses. For more information see Virtual Island Summit 2020
