On On April 22nd, 2016 the Irish Ocean Literacy Network  a.k.a. the IOLN formed its first steering group under the stewardship of the then secretariat Susan Heaney of Blue Inspiration. Its members came from a diverse range of backgrounds including NGO’S, Public/ Government, attraction, academic, media and general interest. This group started the foundation of the Irish Ocean Liteacy Network

The Irish Ocean Literacy Network (IOLN) aims to bring together relevant institutes, agencies, researchers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs), individuals and educators who are working towards the vision of “achieving an ocean literate society across the island of Ireland”.
