Dear IOLN Members, we hope you are looking after yourselves and staying strong. There has been a huge #CommunityResponseIRL to the challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic and we would like to share some of these supports and links with you our members.

Oceans of Learning from the Marine Institute

Immerse yourself in oceans of learning with downloadable resources, videos and interactive activities that explore Ireland’s marine resource and the work of scientists at the Marine Institute.

An Taisce Clean Coasts have a range of activities and resources, including an online quiz every Thursday night and expert talks to help people stay connected to the ocean while beach cleans are suspended. Click here from the full list of events on the Clean Coast April Catch Up.

The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group

The IWDG are running a Flukey Art Competition and hosting a virtual classroom every Friday at 11 am on their Facebook page. See their homepage for more information.

The Explorers Education Programme have a range of resources that can be used in home schooling primary school students at home , under the theme of the Meet the Explorers Team . Check out the Explorers Website and social media page for updates.

Check out Coastmonkey and Inshore Ireland for updates and news on the marine environment.

The Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) have partnered with The Heritage Council and the Heritage Officer Programme, Waterways Ireland and Inland Fisheries Ireland to look for stories about people’s favourite waterbody or interesting stories from someone you know.

Anyone can enter. And you can enter more than one story.  The closing date for entries is 31st May.
